10 Things You Must Do in Delray Beach
Anyone that knows me knows how much I LOVE my town! There is no where else in the world that I would rather live, and if you are lucky enough to live here you know what I mean!
If you don’t live here, then it is time you pay this beautiful beachside paradise a visit! When you come here are my suggestions of what to do.
Number One-Try a new restaurant or bar
With a whole downtown FULL of incredible restaurants, you could try a different one for each month for weeks on end. Stop any local on the street and they will be so happy to give you their recommendations. I tried the incredible new restaurant Amar the other day, and we loved everything we had!
Number Two-Relax beachside
This one is definitely a no brainer. We have the most beautiful beach here in town and you will see people doing yoga, having picnics and surfing all hours of the day.
Number Three- Walk down Atlantic Ave
Atlantic Avenue is the main street that runs through our downtown, and is full of shops, restaurants, bars and live music.
Number Four- Stroll down Pineapple Grove & Shop at A Little Wyld
Pineapple Grove is where you can normally find me (and a ton of locals) hanging out. Its a lot more quiet than bustling Atlantic Ave, but has some of my favorite places to eat, shop and relax. It also is the home of the much anticipated Ray Hotel, and my boutique-A Little Wyld.
Number Five-Visit the Delray Beach Market
The Delray Beach Market is the new hot spot in town. With an incredible variety of local vendors, there is something delicious for everyone you may be exploring with. Many locals hang in “The Mezz” for both work and play. They Also have incredible events like live cooking demos and activities for little ones so the whole family can have fun!
Number Six-Visit the Arts Warehouse
I am a bit biased since my studio is here, but the Arts Warehouse is a place that you can hang out even when the weather is bad. With constantly changing exhibitions and so many unbelievable Artists in Residence, this is a must do when in Delray Beach. On the first Friday of each month from 6-9 the building is open where people can meet the artists and purchase their work.
Number Seven- Enjoy art at the Cornell Museum
The Cornell Museum was one of my favorite places in town. The building is gorgeous (it used to be a school!), and the team is incredible and they have so many spectacular exhibitions that make you feel like you are in a big city, not a quaint beach town. TEMPORARILY CLOSED!
Number Eight- Attend a Performance at Old School Square or Arts Garage
Looking for live performances that are out of this world? Look no further than these two venues. There is always such a wonderful variety of types of shows, and it’s a great way to spend times with friends and family while supporting the arts.
Number Nine-Take a ride on the Freebee
I LOVE the Freebee. Its a free service put on by the CRA, and its a great way to get fresh air, take a little ride and see town while you go from one place to another. You need to download the app to get picked up, and it does only stay downtown but its the perfect way to go from one part to another and still be able to wear your favorite heels.
Number Ten- Visit the Historical Society
The Historical Society Museum is a wonderful hidden gem. So many people have never been but there are two adorable cottages full of history and surrounded by native plants. There are also so many lovely events hosted here throughout the year.
Moral of the story is come to Delray Beach, its a blast here!!
